    CULTURAL MORNING 1. AGPS, Rajouri has been a frontrunner in academics, sports and cultural fields. The students are exposed to diverse activities for overall personality development. Taking a step forward, a cultural morning was organised by AGPS, Rajouri on 19 July 19. Miss Varenya Hariharan, an accomplished Bharatnatyam dancer from USA performed for the students of AGPS, Rajouri and SBS Degree College, Rajouri.

    2. Miss Varenya is an NRI who was born and brought up in USA. Against all odds, she pursued her dream of learning Bharatnatyam in USA. With her dedication and commitment, she not only achieved expertise in Bharatnatyam but also in tap dance, Ballet, Bhangra and other contemporary dance forms. She is also a recipient of Fulbright Scholarship which is granted to only 50 students in USA. She is a Spanish language teacher under Teach for America program in three primary school and two secondary schools in Mexico.

    3. The event was attended by Patron, AGPS as Chief Guest, Chairman, AGPS, Mr Haqeeqat Singh Isher, SBS Degree College and a large number of students of AGPS and SBS Degree College. In a mesmerising performance, Miss Varenya performed Tishra Alaripu, Matangi Kavuthuvam, Thodaya Mangalam and Natanam Aadinar which was well received and praised by all.

    4. She also interacted with students of AGPS on 18 Jul 19 and shared her experiences as student in USA and a teacher now in Cleaveland Public School in USA. She motivated the students to face the challenges of life with determination and dedicate themselves towards achieving their aim in life. The interaction and cultural event will go a long way in inspiring the students to do well in life and respect the culture and traditions of India.
